Objective
: The objective of this course is to provide basic knowledge of developing a
Research project report relating to a particular field of study.

Unit-I:
Introduction: Types of research projects, fact, concept and theories; planning
the research project-essential ingredients of planning; developing research
questions. Research Design-Components. (20):10 HRS.
Unit-II:
Data Collection: Types of Data-Secondary Data-types of secondary data; sources
of secondary data, Primary Data-types of interview, role of interview in data
collection, interview skills and interviewer’s effect. (20):10 HRS.
Unit-III:
Tools of data collection: questionnaires; types, dealing with non responses,
designing the questionnaire, various methods sampling for collection of data. (20):10 HRS.
Unit-IV:
Data Processing, analysis interpretation and writing the research project
report: Quantitative data analysis, Quantitative data analysis, writing of the
research report-formate of research reports, referencing. (20):10 HRS.

Objectives: The
objective behind the introduction of this paper is to provide the students the
special exposure to business activities. The students will be required to
collect data, information to prepare a concise report of their findings on
selected topics. The topics should be generally from the fields of
specilization that they choose. The faculties will act as their guide in
selection of topic, collection of data analysis ana reporting.
The students are to present their dissertation resulting from the project undertaken, both in written and oral forms. The project covering 100 marks is segregated as follows: 80 Marks for dissertation, 20 Marks for presentation and viva-voce. The modalities for prepartion of dissertation/Project work shall be as per the said norms.

Dissertation/Project must confirm to the
requirements of 5000 to 10000 words.

Title of the topic shall be 16 font normal.
3.
Text heading shall be 14 font normal.
4.
Text sub-heading and additional sub-heading
should be 12 font in bold and italics.

The usual text size shall be 12 font normal
justified.
6.
The line space shall be 1.5.
The completed dissertation must reach the office of the
controller of examinations, dibrugarh university for evaluation at least 20
days before the commencement of the six semester examination. These shall be
evaluated externally keeping parity with other papers of 80 Marks under
speciality programmes. Evaluation of viva-voce and presentation shall be done
internally by the teacher of the college concerned. Marks of viva-voce and
presentation shall have to reach the office of controller of examination along
with the copies of dissertation. Students will have the option to undergo
training in any business organization during the full period of summer
vacation. This is expected to add value to their project preparation.
